OVER 600 people turned up at DUMC for the Personal Holiness In Times Of Temptation seminar held over Jan 12 and 13. Recognising the importance of holiness, DUMC Senior Pastor actively promoted the seminar - the first seminar of 2007 for DUMC - among his congregation. The turn-out exceeded our expectations. Our Lord is definitely speaking to His people about the area of holiness! The crowd packed the old Ruby Cinema, DUMC's Sea Park premise. As WorldTeacher Steven Low expounded on holy living, our holy God and His standards, he liberally sprinkled humourous anecdotes and examples. The attendees, a diverse mix of teenagers to grandparents, responded with much laughter. Among the issues addressed, Pr Steven talked about the possibility of personal holiness. Rebuking the lies of the devil that holiness is only for people like Mother Theresa or senior pastors, Pr Steven reminded all that with God, all things are possible and our Father won't command us to be holy if it's an impossible task. After all, we are His much loved children for who He was crucified for. At the end of each session, Pr Steven either led the attendees to pray a closing prayer over the area that has just been addressed or invited them out to the altar as a visible pronouncement of their decision to leave the past behind and live holy. We believe and pray that lives have been changed. Praise God!  |
